ICTA's ICBP programme to benefit industry
ICT: The ICT Capacity Building Programme (ICBP), under the
sponsorship of the Information and Communications Technology Agency of
Sri Lanka (ICTA) is a USD 5.3 million Government of Sri Lanka/World
Bank-funded programme consisting of several strategies that are designed
to provide a boost to the ICT industry.
Director, ICTA Reshan Dewapura said, the ICBP aims to bridge the gaps
that exist within the local ICT industry to enable them to become
world-class players.
The programme will provide various types of scholarships, grants,
incentives and make available funding to stimulate growth in the local
ICT industry through the introduction of various training programmes and
certifications.
IT enabled services (ITeS), project management, quality assurance and
leadership development are some of the areas this programme will focus
on.
All ICT industry companies aiming to reap the benefits of this
programme would need to register at the ICBP website for the various
funding options.
"Funding would be subject to certain conditions and the amounts will
depend on the company seeking such assistance," Programme Manager ICTA,
Fayaz Hudah said.
"The registration process has been made very simple to enable
companies to complete this task fairly quickly. Profiling of these
companies will take place subsequently which will enable the equitable
disbursement of grant funding made available through the ICBP", Hudah
said. |
