FROM JAPAN WITH LOVE
 Japanese musician, Naoyuki Manabe plays a traditional Japanese musical instrument Sho during the Sounds of Traditional Japan - Today concert at the Elphinstone Theatre on Tuesday. Sho is made up of a group of 17 slender bamboo pipes with reeds gathered together in one bundle. It makes a sound like an organ, it always plays chords and makes the same sound whether you exhale or inhale. The Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation jointly organised the concert Sounds of Traditional Japan - Today to promote cultural exchange between Japan and Sri Lanka. This concert is a part of a tour starting in Nepal, Bangladesh and Calcutta before in Sri Lanka. AFP
