Major honours for Niloo and Lalinda in Hyundai Golf

Golf: Niloo Jayatilleke, a leading lady golfer having won quite a few competitions at the local level - did herself proud last Friday evening, when she walked amidst the cheers of many in the very decorative banquet hall of the RCGC to receive from the Minister Counsel of the Korean Embassy, Ahn Gil-Won the Hyundai Golf Trophy on being the winner of the 'A' division title of this year's 2006 tournament.

This popular golf competition as in past, was organized and conducted by the Ladies Section of RCGC and for the last five years has been sponsored by Hyundai Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.

Teeing off on Friday morning, September 15 at the RCGC were 54 lady golfers which was considered a very high turnout for ladies.

Giving a good account of themselves in this Stableford Golf Competition apart from Niloo Jayatilleke was Sandra Ramanayake, Lalindra Dharmaratne, with the overall net winner being Lalindra Dharmaratne.

Keen enthusiasm prevailed amongst a very competitive set of golfers, which spread over to the contest for the wooden spoonist, Closest to the Pin and the Best 6 Hidden Holes.

The presentation of the awards which preceded the dinner was made by the chairman of Hyundai, Manilal Fernando, MD Hyundai, Heinz Reuter and his wife Ruth Reuter, Executive Director Hyundai, Gehan Siribaddana and the Marketing Manager (Zam Gems) Mrs. Andrea Breher. The proceedings was steered by the Secretary for the ladies golf section S. Nirmalalingam.
