Southern consensus path to peace
President tells KDA Convocation:
President Mahinda Rajapaksa asserted that for the
first time ever, political parties in the South are now prepared to set
aside political differences, sit together, reach a consensus and
formulate a framework through which all could work on resolving the
ethnic crisis to reach a sustainable and honourable peace.

Talks sans solution a waste of time, Sangaree tells Akashi
TULF leader V. Ananadasangaree in a letter addressed
to Japanese Peace envoy Yasushi Akashi said having talks with the LTTE
without a reasonable solution will be a mere waste of time and only help
the LTTE to strengthen itself.
