All should flock round President - Deputy Finance Minister

COLOMBO: This is the moment that all should flock around the
leader of the country, Deputy Finance and Planning Minister Ranjith
Siyambalapitiya said recently.
He was addressing a media conference organised by the Ministers
Secretaries Union (MSU) to explain the activities coinciding with the
completion of first year in office by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to be
launched in 14 districts excluding the districts under the "Jathika
Saviya" programme.
MSU President Kumaradasa Giribawa highlighted their past activities
extended to the tsunami victims of the country and recalled the several
Bodhi Pujas organised for the blessing of Security Forces.For the
commemoration of this special event, the union has decided to assist 50
"Daham Pasala" by supplying of needs they required. The special social
activities will be commenced soon, Giribawa added.
"No State funds will be utilised in this mission," Union President
Giribawa emphasised. Addressing the media, the Union Secretary Ajith
Jayasundara said artistes, often neglected at present, will be honoured
at the level.
"The MSU also hopes to engage in coordinating activities of
establishing "Govi Gammana"in every divisional secretariat of the
country with the collaboration of respective Local bodies of the area.
This will be initiated from Uhana in the Ampara district, Union
Secretary Ajith Jayasundara added. |
