Microsoft partners Dialog Telekom
MOU: Dialog Telekom has entered into an Enterprise Agreement with
Microsoft, adopting the global software giant's most preferred offering
for corporate customers. The strategic partnership provides Dialog
access to up-to-date Microsoft software.
In parallel, Dialog also signed a Premier Support agreement with
Microsoft, which will ensure that Microsoft technologies will be
deployed and used in the most effective manner - enabling the company to
achieve faster return on investment and better risk management. Dialog
is the first Sri Lankan company to sign a Premier Support agreement
directly with Microsoft Sri Lanka.
The Enterprise Agreement will provide Dialog Telekom with access to
software such as Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for Infrastructure and
Directory Services, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 for Messaging,
Microsoft Office 2007 System for personal productivity and Windows Vista
for desktop environment.
Software assurance, which is guaranteed under the agreement, will
provide Dialog with a combination of benefits, including automatic new
version rights, the Home Use Programme and advantages such as technical
support, software tools, employee training via e-learning and updates on
the latest technologies.
Dialog's decision to enter into a Enterprise Agreement with Mocrosoft
was spurred by the possibilities of improving internal effectiveness via
a strong messaging and directory services platform.
In collaboration with Mocrosoft Consultancy Services (MCS), Dialog
implemented a standardised directory service platform based on Windows
Server 2003 and a messaging system based on Microsoft Exchange Server
2003 communication and collaboration server, enabling Dialog employees
to communicate more efficiently.
The solution will also provide E-mail, contacts, calendars and tasks
to be pushed automatically to employees' mobile devices running Windows
Mobile by utilising Microsoft's push mail technology.
