Lanka cannot be manipulated by foreign forces - PM
Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake reiterated
that Sri Lanka as a sovereign State could never be manipulated by
foreign forces when receiving tsunami aid. Prime Minister Wickremanayake
made this statement when he addressed the unveiling ceremony of the
Bamiyan Buddha Statue at Peraliya on Tuesday to commemorate the 2004
tsunami disaster.

Health Care and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala De
Silva threw an open challenge to prove that there were political leaders
in post-independence Sri Lanka other than President Mahinda Rajapaksa
who had sent his/her sons or daughters to join the Armed Forces as a
sign of strengthening and encouraging the Forces.
