Maritime laws, UN conventions and CFA breached

The LTTE has breached all basic human rights, international maritime laws, UN conventions, law of the land and also the Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) by pirating the Jordan registered Merchant Vessel Farah III in the sea off Mullaitivu, Navy sources said yesterday.

Govt not informed of SLMM move

It has come to light that the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) is to recall their staff from Trincomalee and other areas for an unspecified period for a conference in Colombo. Sources said that the SLMM has informed the Trincomalee DIG and not the government about the matter.
