SSC and Colts CC continue to head points table

CRICKET: SSC and Colts CC continued to head the SLC Premier League inter club cricket tournament points table following their first innings victories during the weekend.

SSC had the better of their traditional rivals NCC on the first innings at Maitland Place while Colts CC collected the maximum points as they defeated Tamil Union outright by eight wickets at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium.

However Sebastianites SC made the biggest impact during the weekend as they trounced Baduraliya SC by an innings and 58 runs to register their first outright victory in the competition. As a result they have bounced back into recognition and are currently placed second with a total of 33.09 points.

Meanwhile Tamil Union slumped into the third place following their major setback and they are currently trailing by twelve points from the table leaders Colts CC. NCC despite their first innings defeat continue to occupy the second place from group 'A' followed by Ragama CC and Bloomfield.

In the tire 'B' championship Lankan CC have built up a massive lead over their rivals following another splendid performance during the concluded weekend. They defeated Singha SC Ambalangoda by a massive margin of 240 runs which was also their third outright win in the tournament.
