year. Dr. T. Somasekeram at his induction as the General President
in January 2004 pointed out that "a Diamond Jubilee is a point of
time in the life of an institution to take stock of what has been
achieved in 60 years and plan for the future with a more realistic
data base and more realistic goals"...

Computer literacy of teachers
COMPUTERS offer exciting approaches to teaching
that were not even dreamed of twenty years ago, but the extent to
which the educational potential of computer technology will be
realised remains to be seen. Use of computers can revolutionise
teaching and learning and could bring advances that would improve
education dramatically. Ordinary students would make massive gains
and bright students could meet greater challenges.
