Forces consolidate in East
Security Forces took complete control over
territories from Kadjuwatte to Panichenkerni and Ichchilampattu and
Uppural areas after consolidating their positions in the newly
captured areas. The LTTE fired mortars from Vakarai towards the Army
detachments. The Army also recovered bodies of four LTTE cadres and
a haul of weapons.

Truce monitors resume work
Ten of Sri Lanka's nearly three dozen truce
monitors will be back at their posts next week in the North and East
after an absence of more than two weeks, a spokesman said.
