Boost for Civil Security service

Fully geared to combat terrorism :

The Civil Security Department, formerly known as the Homeguard Service, will be strengthened and fully geared to combat terrorism. The CSD will deploy fully trained and well-equipped civil security personnel in villages and jungles shortly.

Enjoining order on UNP leader

Colombo District Judge Aruna C. Ranasinghe yesterday issued an enjoining order preventing UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe from suspending 11 UNP Members of Parliament who recently joined the Government and assumed duties as Ministers, from their memberships of the Working Committee of the UNP.
