Old Antonians in 178 run win

CRICKET: A devastating spell of medium pace bowling by Zamique Muthalib who captured 6 for 28 helped old Antonians Sports Club, Kandy to score an easy 178 runs win over Madawela United Sports Club in their Sri Lanka Cricket’s Division III cricket tournament match organised by the Kandy District Cricket Association and played at Katugastota.

Madawela United were 39 for 8 at one stage and the tail wagged a little to bring the score upto 65. When they fielded, they bowled eretically to concede as much as 48 extras which is one of the highest in this tournament so far.

Old Antonians SC: 243 all out in 38.4 overs (J. Siegert 20, P. Samarakoon 15, S. Munas 32, S. Sumindan 54, S. Hettiarachchi 40, M. Rusli 10, M. Naleem 3 for 48, M. Mufees 3 for 17, M. Bisri 2 for 37)

Madawela United SC: 65 all out in 11.3 overs (M. Zuhair 23 not out, R. Naleem 10, Zamique Muthalib 6 for 28)
