‘Amma’ helps Lanka’s tsunami victims

COLOMBO: Sri Matha Amiritanandamayi Devi of India, popularly known as ‘Amma’ who donated 96 houses to Sri Lanka’s tsunami victims called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday. Of these houses, 36 are in the Kalutara District, while 60 are in Kalmunai.

She spent Rs. 70 million to construct these houses. She called on the President yesterday to hand over the keys of these houses. President Rajapaksa appreciated her services.

Minister Douglas Devananda and the Indian team accompanied Sri Matha Amiritanandamayi were present.
