State Television Awards 2004, 2005

COLOMBO: The State Television Awards 2004, 2005 organised by the Cultural Affairs Department will be held on March 7 at the BMICH, said Cultural Affairs Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena at a press conference at the Ministry.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be the chief guest. This is the only awards ceremony in Sri Lanka to evaluate creations in the State television field. Abeywardena said three hundred creations have been received under 21 categories.

The objective of this event is to improve the quality of television programmes and encourge creativity. A panel has been appointed to sort out the most deserving contenders.
