Singaporean news agency says Lanka attracting record investments :

SINGAPORE: Sri Lanka has recorded its highest economic growth rate in 30 years despite the prolonged ethnic strife mainly due to the theatre of conflict being far removed from the country's economic epicentre, according to Bloomberg, a Singaporean news agency.

Brattskar's visit to Kilinochchi cancelled

Norwegian Ambassador Hans Brattskar's planned visit to Kilinochchi was cancelled due to security reasons yesterday, official sources said. Peace Secretariat Chief and Foreign Secretary Dr. Palitha Kohona said the Government advised him not to undertake the visit under the current circumstances.
