batting feat of Sir Garfield Sobers. Sobers who had no peer during
his time as the world's greatest allrounder broke the world
individual batting record when he went past Sir Leonard Hutton's 364
and made 365 not out against Pakistan in 1958, on this hallowed
wicket.

A spectacular run by hill stormer Nishan
Weerasooriya in his Alpha Mitsubishi Evolution 9 which registered a
timing of 35.75 seconds saw him return the fastest timing of the day
at the Formula Plus Mahagastota Speed Hill Climb 2007 organised by
the Ceylon Motor Sports Club and held before a large holiday crowd
at Mahagastota estate track at Blackpool in Nanu Oya.
