Jets pound Sea Tiger bases

JAFFNA: Air Force jets pounded two identified LTTE Sea Tiger bases and another Tiger movement causing heavy damages to the Tigers in Jaffna and Thoppigala yesterday noon, the Media Centre for the National Security said.

According to a spokesman from the MCNS, Air Force jets destroyed two identified LTTE targets yesterday noon. The targets were destroyed following accurate and precise ground information given to the Air Force.

The first Air Force strike destroyed an LTTE Sea Tiger base South of Nagarkovil, Palayadi area in Jaffna yesterday at around 12.00 noon causing heavy damages to the Sea Tiger camp.

Meanwhile, the second air strike targeted an LTTE cadres movement West of Thoppigala area in Batticaloa yesterday at around 1.00 p.m. The target was destroyed after close observations.
