‘Seth Sevana’set up
COLOMBO: The UNP Democratic group has set up a community service
organisation named ‘Seth Sevana’ to organise religious, cultural, social
and education service activities throughout the country.
The project conducted under the supervision of Public Administration
and Home Affairs Minister’s Senior Advisor and Former Samurdhi Minister
R. A. D. Sirisena will pay special attention towards finding solutions
to people’s problems by visiting places of national religious, cultural
and historic importance utilising the participatory development
strategy, said a press release issued by the group.
The Thorawa Mayilewa Raja Maha Vihara in Galgamuwa dating back to the
reign of king Walagama has been selected as the maiden venue for
launching this project on April 29 at 10 a.m. under the patronage of
Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister Karu Jayasuriya.
Sports Minister Bandula Basnayake and all Ministers and Deputy
Ministers in the UNP Democratic Group will participate. It will include
several community service projects including renovation of temple
buildings, an environment protection program, provision of library
equipment.
