Bid to meet housing needs of middle, upper middle income groups

SOLUTION: The mega township project, Millenium City and Millenium
Villas at Ja-Ela, will provide a solution for the housing shortage of
the middle income, upper middle income and affluent categories, Deputy
Chairman, Ceylinco Developers Ltd, Bandula Ranaweera said.
"The township project will target the middle income category to solve
the housing problem. Eight hundred housing units will be put up under
this project. There are three segments in this project. Most of the
housing units will be for middle income class.
This project is a joint venture with the Board of Investment (BOI),"
Ranaweera said. People can buy a house at rupees 2.5 million and upgrade
the house adding on mini features based on flexible design whenever they
are capable," he said.
He added that the entire township is promoted in this housing project
which is a salient feature. "We are not concentrating only on building
houses but also promoting the life styles. The landscape, parks,
gymnasia, swimming pools, mini super markets, medical centres and
transportation will be included in the housing project.
Millenium Villas are resort type bungalows and is constructed with
luxurious finishes," he explained. "Telecommunication, electricity and
water will be provided. Storm water drainage systems are already in
place. We also arrange housing loans for customers to pay in
installments.
All the houses are compiled with high quality standard and we provide
a ten year warranty for the structure. Buyers can invest without fear.
Once the Colombo Katunayake highway is completed it will add more value
to the township project," Ranaweera said.
He added that more than 400 units are already sold at Ja-ela
Millenium City and around hundred families have settled. "Around 1500
houses have been completed and handed over under the Athurugiriya
housing project, from the total of 1700 houses.
There is a similar housing project in Kurunagela and 40 percent of
the project is completed," he said. |
