Suggestions and proposals for improvement of road network
Road Network: We as citizens of the country and
members of the tax paying public would like to know what happens to
revenue collected from road tax annual license fee, luxury and semi
luxury tax, tax of Rs 1 from a litre of petrol and cents 50 from a
litre of diesel, road development tax collected with insurance
premium and customs levies from the import of motor vehicles.

Towards building a safer Sri Lanka
In the aftermath of the unprecedented tsunami on
December 26, 2004, the scale of response from WMO
including the first ever visit by a head of WMO to
my country, deserves commendation. The
Meteorological Service in Sri Lanka received
assistance in a number of forms including
communication upgrades, man-power training, and
technical assistance through the active engagement
of WMO.
