Caddies Rasika and Logaraja take top honours

GOLF: Two caddies from the Victoria Golf and Country Resort S. Rasika and S. Logaraja took top honours at the May Monthly Medal Golf competition organised by the Victoria Golf and Country Resort and worked off at the beautiful Victoria Golf Course at Rajawella over the weekend.

Bright weather once again greeted the large field of golfers from Colombo, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya and well maintained fairways and the greens were in immaculate condition.

S. Rasika won the Ladies Nett Division with nett score of 72 but Singaporean Aida Andrea too registered a similar nett score of 72 strokes. Rasika emerged winner on a count back that too after a very close fight. Rasika got 9.38 back 9 while Aida Andrea 9.39.

In third and fourth places were Sonia Boyle 73 nett and Leader Board Leader Roshni Sangani 74 nett. Just three points separated the foursome and it would give a idea as to the tense struggle these lady golfers would have been engaged in.

The Mens Nett Division went to caddie S. Logaraja with 71 nett but Chamil Wicrkemasinghe 73 nett and David Evans 73 nett were not far behind them. It was the handicap which gave Logaraja an edge over them.

Rasika was on top of the Ladies gross Division with 87 followed by Sonia Boyle on 90 and Aida Andrea 96 gross.

Logaraja was also on top of the Men’s Gross Division getting 79 gross with Chamil Wickremasinghe and David Evans too registering scores of 79 gross. Logaraja emerged winner on a count back getting 9.38, Chamil Wickremesinghe 9.40 and David Evans 9.41. A very close tussle was witnessed here.
