agent, H. M. Herath as to how to get water to the proposed zone. The

life styles of the under privileged people in the area," he said.
The Government is expected invest around Rs. 200 for each for these
three zones to provide infrastructure facilities to the investors. These
would include, providing electricity, water, telecom, sewerage, road and
rail networks.
Minister said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa is keen that economic
benefits should be spread equally to the underprivileged districts such
as Hambantota, Puttalam, Matara and Trincomalee to close the gap between
the districts which enjoy high GDP rates.
The economic zone should bring in investments to these areas, which
would help to generate employment for the under privileged people living
