"The "Save and Win Cars" promotion was launched in October (National
Savings Month) 2007 to further inculcate the savings habit among both
adults and children while also giving them the opportunity of winning
cars.
Operative through all TFC's branches islandwide until 30 April 2007,
every Rs. 1000 deposited in a Minor's or Adult's Savings Account
entitled one to a chance of winning. Additional deposits in multiples of
Rs. 1000 meant more chances," Mrs Ramani Rodrigo, Asst General Manager
(Savings) of The Finance Company added.
A member of Ceylinco Consolidated, The Finance Company was
incorporated on 30th May 1940 under the leadership of the late Senator
Justin Kotelawala, who was the father of the present Chairman,
Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotelawala.
It holds the unbeatable record of being Sri Lanka's oldest Finance
Company, and today counts over 50,000 long-standing deposit holders,
some spanning three generations, with around 20 billion FDs, the largest
fixed deposit base in the non-banking sector.
With a rapidly expanding clientele islandwide, The Finance Company is
the current market leader in real estate/property development. It is
also the only non-banking financial institution with the largest
islandwide branch network outside the banking and insurance sectors and
counts over 1300 employees. |
