Deadline for recruiting trainee soldiers extended

COLOMBO: The May 31 deadline for recruiting trainee soldiers for the Sri Lanka Army has been extended till June 15.

New applicants could attend interviews in all the major army camps and Divisional Secretary offices islandwide.

Unmarried males aged between 18-24 with a minimum height of 5 feet 04 inches and minimum education upto eight grade are eligible to apply.

The starting monthly salary would be over Rs. 27,000 and they would be eligible for training both locally and abroad.

New applicants are advised to bring there national ID card, original copy of the birth certificate, school leaving certificate, Certificate from the Grama Sevaka attested by the DS, temporary police certificate, two character certificates along with other educational and sports certificates.

The selected candidates are to be recruited on the same day and they are advised to bring all utensils when attending interviews.
