Rugby coaching clinic at Ruwanwella
RUGBY: A Rugby coaching clinic was held at the Ruwanwella Rajasinghe
Central College grounds recently.
This programme was organised by the Sabaragamuwa Rugby Football Union
and conducted by SLRFU Development Committee, under the watchfull eyes
of Rob Yule, National Rugby Coach assisted by Sarath Ranaweera (National
Development Manager SLRFU) and Ajith Fernando (Technical Officer SLRFU).

development programmes to observe the way things are being done in order
to establish what requirements, support and resources will be needed in
future to improve the individual skills of players they are working
with.
According to K.S.P. Karunaratne (Secretary-Sabaragamuwa RFU) most of
the coaches who attended this programme came from Embilipitiya
travelling 123 Km to Ruwanwella starting from 3.00 a.m. Rob was
delighted and commended these lads for the great interest shown to
attend this coaching programme.
More than 35 participants (Girls and Boys) took part in this
programme who showed their skills and at the end, Rob demonstrated the
correct way of positioning to pass a rugby ball and also how to receive
a pass.
At the end of the programme a lecture was given to the trainee
coaches, by Rob Yule. |
