FCCISL to take the New Companies Act to provinces
Seminar: The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry
of Sri Lanka is organising a series of seminars on the New Companies Act
for the benefit of the business community in the regions.
The first of the series will be held in Kurunegala on the July 19 at
their recently opened Centre, Senior Consultant, FCCISL Jagath C.
Savanadasa said.
He said it is significant that this pioneering effort is supported by
a top government official in the calibre of Registrar of Companies
Deepthi Hettiarachchi who is billed to deliver the keynote address on
'How the New Companies Act promotes Small and Medium Enterprises' and
the duties of the company directors and the rates governing Capital of
Companies.'
FCCISL will also obtain the services of a well-known Attorney-at-Law,
Vipula Silva, a top official of the Ceylinco Group of Companies who will
be the other speaker.
He would speak on areas such as 'Financial Reporting Requirements and
Evaluation of Solvency of small and medium companies'.
Savanadasa said regional trade and industry is expanding and FCCISL
would be endeavouring to provide a sufficient knowledge of the New
Companies Act in the Regions. Since Kurunegala has become a thriving
centre for business and industry Savanadasa felt that it is an ideal
place to disseminate information on the New Companies Act.
He said this will be an ideal opportunity for the private sector
entrepreneurs to get a clear understanding of the New Act so that they
could adjust the procedures according to the provisions of the New Act. |
