Govt balancing interests of consumer and farmer - Trade Minister

The Government has succeeded in bringing down inflation from 20.5 per cent in March to 13 per cent in June, Trade and Marketing Development Minister Bandula Gunewardena said yesterday.

Fuel subsidies for several sectors

The Ministerial Sub Committee appointed by the President to bring down cost of living has made several recommendations. Under these recommendations it is proposed to give a fuel subsidy for three-wheeler drivers, Samurdhi recipients who use kerosine oil and fishing boat operators.
