Ten essential commodities exempted from VAT - President

The Government has exempted 10 essential commodities from VAT to cushion the impact of the rising cost of living on the ordinary masses. President Mahinda Rajapaksa said "The Government incurred a loss of Rs. 900 million annually due to this tax exemption.
