Dialog continues profit momentum
Record profit after tax of Rs. 5.25 billion in
first-half
Dialog Telekom PLC recorded a profit After Tax of
Rs. 5.25 bn. up 8 per cent relative to the first-half of 2006.
Company earnings comprise in the main of contributions from mobile
business supplemented by earnings accruing from the company's
International Business Operations and Internet Service Provider

John Keells Group records Rs. 312 mn profit in 1st quarter
John Keells holdings achieved a profit
attributable to equity holders of Rs. 821 million, a 67 per cent
increase over the corresponding period in the previous year. The
group recorded revenues of Rs. 8.5 billion and a profit before tax (PBT)
of Rs. 1.1 billion in the first quarter of FY 2007-08, a growth of
13 and 51 per cent respectively over the corresponding period in the
previous year, Chairman S.C. Ratnayake said.

Enhanced infrastructure for Biyagama Zone
Over 1,000 Chinese investors are willing to
invest in Sri Lanka mainly in the apperal sector to compete more
effectively in the international market. Speaking to the
manufacturers in the Biyagama Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Minister
of Investment Promotion and Enterprise Development Dr. Sarath
Amunugama said they are planning to have a special passport scheme
for these investors.
