This was according to the budget proposal of 2006. Bank of Ceylon is one of the Banks who has come forward to assist the investors, sources revealed.

A discussion to make aware of the bankers in this regard was held recently in Colombo under the patronage of Investment Promotion Minister Navin Disanayake.

The officials of Seylan Bank, People’s Bank and National Development Bank were among participants.

Minister Disanayake appealed to the above bank representatives to implement a loan scheme with subsidised interest for their investments.

The bank officials promised Minister Disanayake to streamline such a loan scheme as soon as possible.
