The Government’s undertaking to subsidise
fertiliser is going to be a commitment of Rs 18 billion annually
This works out at Rs 350 per bag of 50 kgs with a subsidy of Rs 2050
per bag. With the oil prices edging up the subsidy will increase and
this scheme will not be tenable.
