Lanka participates in Malaysian mega trade fair
A twenty member delegation comprising officials of the Sri Lanka
Export Development Board (EDB) and the Sri Lanka - Malaysia Business
Council (SLMBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be leaving
shortly to participate at the 8th International Strategic Partnership
and Business Networking Trade Fair for SMEs - Global SMEs 2007 scheduled
for September 6-8 at MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre, Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia.
This is an historical event for the Sri Lanka - Malaysia Business
Council as this is the first occasion the Council is participating at an
Exhibition and will showcase Sri Lankan products under the banner “Sri
Lanka Pavilion”.
According to the organisers, this year Thaiwan, Vietnam and Sri Lanka
will be the main focus for the visitors at Global SMEs 2007.
The Council has made all arrangements for Sri Lankan companies
participating at the above fair to meet the representatives from
Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia,
Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Malay
Chamber of Commerce. The meetings will be facilitated by the Sri Lanka
High Commission in Malaysia.
The delegation will be led by Chairman, Sri Lanka Export Development
Board (EDB) Brian Angunawala and will comprise Dr. Rohitha Silva,
President, Sri Lanka - Malaysia Business Council and Managing Director
IDAC (Pvt) Ltd, Attorney-at-Law Tilak N. Gunawardane and Chairman,
Mackwoods Limited and Dr. Chris Nonis.
Ni-Cey International, Demeco Enterprises, Esjay Electromac, Sisara
Data Management, Kingki, Maximus, Mermaid Jewellers, Janet Ayurvedics,
Thilini Soft Toys, Mackwoods, Bio Extract, Western Air Ducts Lanka,
Graphic Systems, Macksons Paint Industries, Orient Electric Systems,
Scia South Ceylon Industrial Agency and EDB will be the stall holders at
the Exhibition. |
