Mercantile Hockey sevens on September 30

HOCKEY: In association with the Mercantile Hockey Association Browns group of Companies has extended its sponsorship package for the dual celebration of the Golden Jubilee Year of the Mercantile Hockey Association and the most prestigious Annual 7 - A-Side Hockey Championship among the mercantile sector for 31st occasion at "P. Sarawanamuttu Stadium" (Oval) on 30th September, 2007 commencing 8.00 a.m. onwards.

Brown and Co. PLC. having a history of 135 years, is one of the oldest institutions who have produced well-known National and International sportsmen and sportswomen and also a promoter of all sports at large during the last three decades.

Browns representatives served in the executive committees of different sports bodies representing Cricket, Hockey, Soccer, Rugby, Basketball, Netball, etc.

In the recent past the chief Executive Officer/Group Managing Director Murali Prakash has been elected to serve in the Mercantile Hockey Association as a Vice Patron. Further, Mr. & Mrs. Murali & Bawani Prakash will grace the occasion as the chief guests and Chandra T.A. Schaffter and Mrs. Lilani Schaffter as the guests of honour.
