Petition filed claiming Rs.100 million from former President
Alleged deceitful release of State land for
private golf course:
Two retired civil servants yesterday filed a
fundamental rights case against former President Chandrika
Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and fifteen others before the Supreme Court
claiming compensation of Rs 100 million each from the first and the
fifth respondents for allegedly releasing a State land on
concessionary terms at Kalapaluwawa Rajagiriya to Asia Pacific Golf
Course Ltd, which was earlier acquired from the original landowners
for a public purpose of urban development but later used to
construct a private Golf Course.
