35 houses damaged in Maligawatta fire

COLOMBO: A sudden fire that erupted in Apalawatte, Maligawatta caused damage to 35 houses in the area yesterday.

No deaths have been reported and the fire was extinguished by the Fire Brigades of Air Force and Colombo Municipal Council with Maligawatta police help. According to sources, the cause was an electrical short circuit.

Maligawatta police are investigating.
