Mahanama shot out for 85

CRICKET: Off-spinner Adil Reyal captured 5 for 15 for St. Anthony’s College to help them to dismiss Mahanama College for a paltry 85 on the first day of their schools Lemonade trophy cricket tournament match which began at Katugastota yesterday.

The Antonians did not fare too well in their turn at the wickets and were dismissed for 136, giving them a first innings lead of 51 which may be useful as the wicket did not favour the batsmen yesterday.

Only Subramanium Sumindan showed some confidence scoring 44 not out. T. Madushan bowled well to capture 4 for 41.

Mahanama 85 all out in 35.1 overs (S. Ruberu 27, S. Kurukularahchchi 18, Adil Reyal 5 for 15, T. Bandara 3 for 12).

St. Anthony’s 136 all out in 48.1 overs (K. Ekanayake 19, S. Sumindan 44 not out, T. Bandara 15, J. Siegertsz 11, T. Madushan 4 for 41, T. Buddhika 2 for 31).
