Govt Analyst's Dept hit by drugs racket

The Criminal Investigation Department has uncovered a massive drug racket at the Government Analyst's Department following the arrest of four employees of the Department and a Sub-Inspector attached to a Colombo police station.

Additional 100 buses to SLTB fleet in two weeks

The Government has added nearly 100 new buses to the State bus service within the last two weeks at a cost of Rs. 220 million. According to the Transport Ministry, the new buses were distributed among seven SLTB depots islandwide including the Kirindiwela, Avissawella, Galle, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Valachchanai and Kalmunai depots to strengthen the State bus service in rural areas.
