Minister meets WB, IMF bosses

Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama, represented President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the World Bank and IMF annual conference held in Washington.

Minister Amunugama held discussions with the President of the World Bank Robert Zoellick, and Managing Director of the IMF, Rodrigo de Rato.

Dr. Amunugama briefed the Heads of both these institutions on the Sri Lanka Government’s development plans. He described to them the current plans to develop and upgrade the country’s infrastructure.

Both the heads of the World Bank and IMF assured the Minister of the continued support of their institutions in that connection.
