LOLC drives in to LIOC
Lanka ORIX Leasing Company PLC, entered into an
agreement with LIOC whereby LOLC will be allowed to set up service
centres in all LIOC filling stations. This is the first time a
financial services organisation and an oil company have entered into
an agreement of this nature.

Tea Shakthi factories record Rs. 74 million profit
Ten tea factories belonging the Tea Shakthi Fund
have recorded a profit of Rs. 74 million during the last nine
months. Plantation Industries Minister D.M. Jayaratne reviewed the
progress of 13 tea factories. The Minister said Balangoda, Gilimale
and Pansaltenna factories are still unprofitable.

Sri Lanka tea promotion in China
The Commercial Section of the Embassy of Sri
Lanka in China carried out a series of activities targeting an
intense promotion of Ceylon Tea in the Chinese market. China has
been identified as a very promising immerging market for tea with
the younger generation showing a taste for value added teas from Sri
Lanka.
