good achievement taking into account the vagaries of an armed

President calls parties to unite to end terrorism
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appealed to all
parties to come together to re-unite a divided country by
eradicating terrorism and to uplift the national economy. The
President made this appeal yesterday at the BMICH, when he addressed
the 'Soorya Sinha' Certificate Awards Ceremony where 34 leading
indigenous Brands were recognised for awards from the President.

Over 120,000 teenage pregnancies during past six months
Over 121,164 teenage pregnancies have been
reported from Sri Lanka during the past six months, Healthcare and
Nutrition Ministry sources said. Teenage pregnancies are a social
and health problem which leads to other problems such as underweight
births, the sources said.
