Political elements behind undergrads’ misconduct, says CVCD
The Committee of Vice Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) in a release
said that there are hidden elements with political intent behind the
recent wave of incidents involving university students.
The release: The CVCD views with deep concern the episodes of serious
misconduct which have occurred in several universities recently where
student unions have resorted to undemocratic and violent means to
resolve disputes with the administration.
It appears that there are hidden elements with political intent
behind the recent wave of incidents involving university students.
The CVCD condemns such acts unreservedly and expresses its
determination to utilise all legal means within the framework of the
University Act, the bylaws of each university and the civil and criminal
laws of the country to maintain discipline and to restore normalcy in
the universities. It appeals to all democratic and peaceful students to
support the administration in this endeavour, the release said. |
