'He had no inclination for negotiations':

Government Defence Affairs Spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella justified the action taken by the Air Force in taking the life of Tiger political wing leader S.P. Thamilselvan saying that he had an inclination towards terrorism, not peace negotiations.

Int'l Community endorses Govt economic policy

Finance and State Revenue Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya yesterday told Parliament that the international community has accepted that the present Government has been able to maintain a sound economic policy. The Minister said despite various claims made by the UNP the international community has placed confidence in the strong economic policy maintained by the Government.

Lanka-Pakistan FTA immensely beneficial - State Revenue Minister

The Pakistan-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement will benefit Sri lanka immensely, Fiance and State Revenue Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya told Parliament yesterday. Siyambalapitiya said Sri Lanka will be able to export 10,000 MT of tea annually duty free to Pakistan under the FTA as well as 1,200 MT of betel leaf. Three million pieces of garments can be exported at preferential tariff rates.

Ceylon Glass to raise Rs. 752 m in Rights Issue

Ceylon Glass Company is to raise Rs. 752 million through a rights issue to induce capital for their future expansions. The rights issue will commence on November 12 and conclude on November 23.
