Colombo undergrads on top

University of Colombo cruised to the top of the points table with a total 139.5 points in the 9th Sri Lanka University Games which is now in progress. Yesterday, it was University of Peradeniya which was on top of the overall standings.

Jaffna University and Uva Wellassa University failed to make any difference to their positions in the points table. Colombo University was victorious in the Men's Elle championship yesterday after they overcame the hosts, while they became the runner-up in the Men's badminton final when they lost to University of Sri Jayawardenapura.

University of Peradeniya met Sri Jayawardenapura in the women's badminton final and Peradeniya was victorious here. University of Kelaniya lost both men's and women's carrom finals in front of Wayamba and Moratuwa universities respectively.

Meanwhile the first round matches of both men's and women's volleyball took place yesterday at the University of Kelaniya.
