World Congress of Integrated Medicines
The World Congress of Integrated Medicines will be held at the BMICH
from November 11 to 13.
Delegates from 97 countries will be present hundred and twenty five
doctors from Vietnam 140 from the People's republic of China and Taiwan
will be presents. Scientific papers related to the curative effects of
complementary medicines and the positive factors of integrating the many
fields of medicines will be discussed.
Several medical specialists will be available for free consultations
at the Sir Anton Jayasuriya free medical Clinic at 8, International
Buddhist Centre Road, Colombo 6, from November 8 to 10.

Peace on Earth concert
The Colombo YWCA which celebrates 125 years of service to the
community will present a concert of music and song 'Let there be Peace
on Earth' today at 7.00 pm at the Methodist Church, Kollupitiya. This
concert will feature the Menaka Singers directed by Menaka de Fonseka
Sahabandu. The guest artiste will be violinist Thushani Jayawardane.
This consists of a varied programme comprising among others O Divine
Redeemer by Gounod, Adiemus, Flower Duet from Lakme, Au fond du temple
saint from Pearl Fishers by Delibes, a work of Sarasate for violin, Le
Voul Ballare by Mozart and You Are My Heart's Delight.

Kadirgamar commemoration lecture
The annual Lakshman Kadiragarmar commemoration lecture organised by
the Board of Management of the Kadiragamar Institute will be held on
November 11 at 3 p.m. at the BMICH.

Commemorative meeting
The Wesley Muthiah commemorative meeting to celebrate his work, life
and dedication to the Left Movement will be held at the Dr. N.M. Perera
Centre, 106, Dr. N.M. Perera Mawatha, Colombo 8 on November 13 at 5 p.m.
Minister Prof. Tissa Vitarana will chair the meeting.

Death of H.L. Jayasekara
The death occurred of H.L. Jayasekara (69), father of Rural
Industries Minister Premalal Jayasekara and five other children. He is
survived by his wife Soma Kodithuwakku. He was also the father-in-law of
Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councillor Ranjith Bandara.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 3.30 p.m. at the family burial
grounds in Nivithigala.

Release of two books
Sahitya Suri Gunadasa Amarasekera will speak on the occasion of the
issue of the first copy of “Na Gaha Langa Gedara” a novel written by
author Piyadasa Wilikannage at Matale Town Hall today.
A book titled “The Buddha And Emperor Aurelius and other Essays”
written by M. B. Mathmaluwa will also be launched.
