Govt stability ensured - Media Minister

Information and Media Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said the Government would maintain its stability and strength as it has a clear majority in Parliament and the support of many political parties.

“The Government is never excited by these developments and had waited patiently in the past.

It had a very clear majority in the Parliament from the beginning and it will remain the same,” he told the Cabinet news briefing.

Different accusations are made by persons who are disappointed because of the failure to realise their ambitions, he added. He promised to present the exact expenditure on all ministers including the Cabinet to the public in the near future in order to give the true picture.

“There were much bigger Cabinets during certain UNP regimes and there were a lot of project ministers. We are only concerned about improving the quality of life of the common man and are not concerned about false arguments or rumours. This Government has already implemented a large number of development programmes and is also winning the war step by step.”
