Lyceum - AIS clash in boys under 19 final

Lyceum International School, Nugegoda will confront Asian
International School in the final of the under 19 boys inter
international schools basketball tournament today at the British School
courts, Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 08, the Asian International School
who had a good run of success throughout the tournament also have
reached into the final of the girls tournament where they will take on
Colombo International School at the same venue today. The tournament is
being conducted by the Brirish School.
In the boys semi finals Lyceum International School beat Elizabeth
Moir International School by 63 points to 49.
The former were well ahead with 41 points to 20 at half time. For the
winners Nipuna piled up a massive 22 points while Upeka on target with
12 points.
Luke with 18 points and Kaul (16) were the chief scorers for the
losers.
Asian International School held to a narrow 48 points to 46 victory
over Colombo International School to book their place in the final.
The winners were trailing 29 points to 24 at short whistle but put up
a immense effort in the latter of the game to seal the victory in favour
of them.
For Asian International School Avin was on a good form with 24 points
and Quraish contributed tean points. For CIS Prashastha scored 12 points
and Sineth Weerasinghe and Sashi added 10 points apiece.
In an earlier matches: (Boys) Elizebath Moir beat Stafford by aclose
47 points to 39 after trailing 23 points to 21 at breather.
Sheron (16) and Luke (18) best shooter for the winners Javar (16) and
Ryan (8) excelled for the losers.
Asian International School beat Royal Institute by 75 points to 21
after being well ahead at 50 points to 8 at breather. Quareish (22) and
Avin (16) were the top scorers for AIS while Ravindra (14) fought a lone
battle for Royal Institute. Rumesh with a valuable 22 points steered
Lyceum International School, Nugegoda to a thumping 74 points to 31 win
over host British School. The half time scores read 37 points to 17 in
favour of the winners.
Nipuna with 16 points was the other top performer for the winners.
Yusuf Abdulhusssein (12) and Anis Saleh (10) played a good role for
