Air Force destroys Tiger satellite centre

Communication centre also facilitated clandestine gatherings:

The co-ordinating centre of LTTE’s international affairs was destroyed by Air Force jet fighters which pounded the facility in Dharmapuram, north east of Kilinochchi early yesterday.

The air strike was carried out after confirmation of intelligence gathering regarding this satellite communication centre, which had also facilitated clandestine gatherings among top LTTE leaders, Air Force spokesman Group Captain Ajantha Silva said.

Group Captain Silva added that Air Force pilots had confirmed the hit and that further confirmation had been received through the interception of LTTE communication.

Meanwhile, six terrorists were killed during a confrontation with troops in Parappakandal, Mannar on Saturday.

No casualties were reported from Security Forces.
