JKH most respected entity
John Keells Holdings was nominated as the most respected entity at
the annual Lanka Monthly Digest (LMD) awards ceremony at Trans Asia
Colombo on Sunday. The LMD 50 award was won by Sri Lanka Telecom while
John Keells was placed runner up.
The best personality of the Year award went to cricketer Lasith
Maliga while Parliamentarian Wijedasa Rajapaksha won the coveted Sri
Lankan of the Year award. Rajapaksha said that corruption is a major
hindrance for development and steps should be taken to curb it.
Lanka IOC, Distilleries, Hayleys, Dialog, Commercial Bank, HNB,
Aitken Spence, and Millers were among the other top eight companies.
Dialog was nominated as the second most respected entity while Hayleys,
MAS Holdings, Commercial Bank, Ceylinco, Aitken Spence, Unilever, HSBC
and Brandix followed.
Chairman Colombo Stock Exchange Nihal Fonseka gave away the awards.
