Schools cager tourneys in January next year

The Schools Under-19 `A’ Division Basketball Tournament for girls and boys organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association will take place at four different venues in Colombo from January 11 to 18 next year namely Asian International School, St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena, St. Peter’s College and Mahanama College.

Altogether sixteen teams will vie for honours for the boys title which have been categorised into four groups while only four teams have registered to take part in the girls tournament.

Teams - Group ‘A’ (boys): St. Peter’s College, St. Anthony’s College, Wattala, S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala.

Group ‘B’: St. Benedict’s College, Colombo International School, St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, Royal College.

Group ‘C’: St. Joseph’s College, Asian International School, D.S. Senanayake College, St. Michael’s College, Batticaloa.

Group ‘D’: Mahanama College, Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, De Mazenod College, Kandana, Maris Stella College, Negombo.

Girls: St. Joseph’s Girls’ School, Nugegoda, Our Lady of Victories (OLV), Moratuwa, St. Paul’s College, Milagiriya, Good Shepherd Convent, Kotahena.

Meanwhile, the `B’ Division girls and boys cager tourney will begin on January 18 in three different venues in Kandy and will be continued till January 28.

Azar Central College, Trinity College and St. Anthony’s College are the venues for this event.

The teams - (Girls) Group ‘A’: Holy Family Convent, Dehiwala, Bishop’s College, St. Joseph’s Balika Vidyalaya, Kegalle.

Group ‘B’: Ladies College, Sirimavo Bandaranaike Balika Vidyalaya, St. Bridget’s Convent, Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala.

Group ‘C’: Loyola College, Negombo, Colombo International School, Asian International School.

Group ‘D’: Girls’ High School, Kandy, St. Clare’s College, Wellawatte, Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, St. Lawrence’s School, Wellawatte.

(Boys) Group ‘A’: Azar Central College, Lumbini College, Colombo, Nalanda College.

Group ‘B’: Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa, Royal Institute.

Group ‘C’: St. Anthony’s College, Kandy, Loyola College, Negombo, Isipathana College.

Group ‘D’: Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, Ananda College.

Group ‘E’: Trinity College, Colombo South International, Siri Dhamma Vidyalaya, Galle.

Group ‘F’: St. Joseph’s College, Nugegoda, Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, Kegalle Central College.

Group ‘G’: Colombo International School, Kandy, Christ King College, Tudella, Belvoir College, International.

Group ‘H’: Lyceum International School, Wattala, St. Sebastian’s College, Kandana, Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa.
